Church
Growth & Evangelism
|
As
Advocate for Evangelism and Church Growth I feel my role is to act
as conduit for ideas and shared experiences. If you are a church who
has experience of evangelistic projects and would like to share your
story or if you feel God is calling you to evangelism then please
get in touch. Although what works for one area may not be
suitable for another, there are certain fundamentals and foundations
which are common to all. There are many individuals and
organisations which have experience and are only too happy to share
that experience and encourage others in sharing the Gospel.
|
Evangelism, as with all
mission, begins with prayer and prayer is not always as easy as
perhaps it should be especially when we are trying to discern
the difference between the good idea which we think God should
do and God's idea which he is giving us to do.
To
help us in our prayer lives Mary Irish and Allen Morton are
leading a retreat programme during 2010 called Points of Light
the second session is on 20th November at Clare Priory.
The last
session is on
20th November 2010

A U.R.C. consultation on Evangelism defined it
as 'Intentionally making disciples of Jesus Christ'. It is only
through sharing our faith that Christ's Kingdom on earth will grow.
I'm here to help you sow the seeds.

Evangelism is not done by being evangelical or
liberal, with charismatic or traditional worship but through the
Grace of God and as we know from Scripture, God chooses many
inexperienced people in unexpected places to share his work.
So whatever label people may use all we need is His Blessing
to share the name of Christ. |

Recently
I visited Adrian Chatfield, Director of the Simeon Centre. Based at
Ridley College Cambridge, it is a centre for prayer and
spirituality. I found our discussions a great blessing as we
discussed the relationship between spirituality and evangelism and I
commend the Centre to you. |
