The United Reformed Church is in a period of change. As the Church moves forward it is important that Training and resources keep a pace with the changes. I believe that Mission begins and ends with the local Church and so am delighted that here in Eastern Synod it is our aim to invest time and money into equipping God's people to be able to meet the challenges of 2009 and beyond with confidence and enthusiasm.

We are fully engaging with Vision4LIFE and are offering resources to help the local church engage with the process. There are resources and stories available on the national website at Vision4LIFE.org.uk. And here on this Website for information click on the link below where you will find resources prepared by myself and Henry Playle.

We are also producing training resources for the Area Partnerships and individual congregations. Our Pastoral Care Course and the Training for Home Communion for Lay Preachers are examples of these resources.

Alongside of this we put on occasional conferences and training opportunities. Currently we have a Synod Vision4 LIFE conference for ministers and Biblical conference open to all taking place in September 2010. See Conference link below for details.
