This years
conference was on the theme of Visions. An enthusiastic group of
people gathered at Westminster with a good mix of gender and
backgrounds which added to the event greatly. As ever the
Biblical sessions were led by John Proctor and Janet Tollington
with Peter Ball leading the worship.
John
entitled his sessions Vision for Community in the town of
Philippi and Vision for Community in the Visions of the Gospels
whilst Janet concentrated on visions in the Old Testament. Both
made sure that the time was interactive as well as providing us
all with lots of new ideas and thinking to take away with us.

On
the Tuesday evening Neil Thorogood inspired us with a
presentation on Biblical Visions in Art.. This was an insightful
session as we thought about why pictures were painted and what
was being depicted. You will find some of the pictures we viewed
and discussed on this page.

All
in all this was an enlightening two days and all went away
already looking forward to next years event being held at
Westminster on
20th -21st September 2010.
Janet is going to help us think about the Messianic texts of the
Old Testament and John will be looking at the book of
Revelation. It promises to be another special time so why not
book the dates now and join us.
Further
details will appear on the Synod Website.
