CPRE's Green Clean Litter Pick

CPRE’s Green Clean is a litter pick to clean up the countryside throughout September – we need your help

cpre-Rural-England-Following the great news of environment secretary Michael Gove's announcement that England will have a deposit return system for bottles and cans, the Government is currently looking into how this system will work, so now is the time to clean up the countryside and show what it could look like with an effective deposit system.

We'll be counting all the bottles and cans collected locally, to provide national evidence to the Government that they need to create the best possible deposit return system for England. We'll provide the kit – just turn up!

We'll also be taking our mobile reverse vending machine – which collects drinks containers of all materials and sizes – to several of the events, with which participating volunteers will be able to dispose of, and receive 10p for, each of the drinks containers collected on their litter picks, helping people become accustomed to the way that a deposit system works.      View: CPRE Campaign to Protect Rural England for further information

Join us and spend twenty four hours being resourced for the month ahead. This event is for ministers, lay preachers, worship leaders and anybody who wants to think afresh about Advent and Christmas. Cost: £63.00.

In brief: Here is a rare opportunity to take 24 hours to stop, reflect, worship and be resourced for what lies ahead over the coming weeks. In the midst of high levels of activity it is important as worship leaders that we have the chance to make space for ourselves, that we also may be ready to welcome the Christ child in mind, body and soul.

URC Holiday Forum 2019

URC Holiday Forum 2019 - A story waiting to be told - 17th - 23rd August 2019

hoiliday-forum-1-2018URC HOLIDAY FORUM 2019 Saturday 17th to Friday 23rd August 2019. We would like to invite you to join us in Swanwick in August for URC Holiday Forum 2019 on the theme of A story waiting to be told.

FUN, FAITH and FELLOWSHIP A Christian holiday for all ages at The Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick, Derbyshire DE55 1AU.

A story waiting to be told… We can’t change history but there are many untold stories which can change the future through how history is remembered. Telling the story is what Jesus did so well and new stories can be told through fiction and non-fiction; gospel and testimony; song and poetry so come and write a new story or, as the Psalmist says, sing a new song to the Lord! Behind every story written and heard there are many more waiting to be told and YOUR story is what the Lord wants you to tell. This is a week to be inspired and inspire with visions and dreams knowing that if you can imagine something it is possible with God.

  • Theme Leader - Revd Richard Becher
  • Worship Leaders - Revd Iain McLaren and Steven Neville
  • Music Leader – Marion Turner (and friends)
