Rave in the Nave Event - Evolving and being Re-imagined!

The Rave in the Nave youth event, held in Ely Cathedral, this year celebrated its 23rd year in existence. The event, geared to young people age 11-18, has over many years been hugely successful and seen over 18,000 young people and youth-leaders enter the Cathedral doors. The event has provided an opportunity for young people to enjoy and engage with Christian music bands, a ...variety of entertainment, a chill-out Café, 'The Spirit Zone', and the opportunity to explore elements of the Christian faith and to hear live testimonies.

We celebrate the impact that this event has had on people's lives but recognise that, against the backdrop of an ever-changing Youth culture, it is time to re-evaluate what sort of new missional initiative might be even more fitting to today's young people and culture and engage them in a new way. With this in mind, Rave in the Nave will not take place as usual in July 2016 but is looking to evolve and change. A new group under the umbrella-name of 'RE-IMAGINE' is gathering to meet to partner and discern what missional outreach event or project will meet the aims of connecting young people to the gospel.

Members of the current RE-IMAGINE group include Ely Diocese, Newmarket YFC, Urban Saints, Cambridge YFC, Ely Cathedral, The Salvation Army, Ely Churches, and The Methodist circuit.
